Make it. Share it. Keep it. Shred it. Toss it. Does that sound like the life cycle of your credentials files? Generally, there’s nothing legally wrong with following that cycle. However, it’s important that your organization create and follow a policy when it comes to the end phase of that cycle.
Such a policy should identify:
How long to keep the files
Where to store the files
What disposal method to use to purge the files
