Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Connecticut are the latest states to be profiled in reports highlighting the physician shortage trend, according to a December 22 AMNews article.
The reports highlighted the following statistics:
- In Wisconsin, a 14% primary care physician shortfall is expected by 2030.
- In Massachusetts, 52% of medical residents moved out of state after completing their training.
- In Connecticut, 19% of doctors are considering a career change.
