The Rhode Island Department of Public Health will no longer issue new or renewed wallet licenses, according to a December 18 press release. Credentialing professionals will be able to verify licensure on the department’s professional license Web site, http://www.health.ri.gov/hsr/professions/license.php
“This move supports our Rhode Island licensed healthcare professionals by ensuring that our licensing system is consistent with the expectations of credentialing agencies,” said executive director of HEALTH’s Environmental and Health Services Regulation, Michael S. Varadian, JD, MBA.
