Former hospital employee admits to selling celeb records

Another hospital employee is in trouble for breaching patient confidentiality. A former administrative specialist at UCLA Medical Center plead guilty to selling confidential information gleaned from medical records of celebrity patients to tabloids.
Lawanda Jackson faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, followed by three years parole, and up to a $250,000 fine. Jackson worked for the hospital system for more than 32 years. Although Jackson’s decision to leak confidential records was deliberate, her case is an important reminder to be careful anytime you’re discussing or sharing medical records of any kind.
