FSMB named a designated equivalent source by JCAHO

The JCAHO announced in the March 2002 edition of Joint Commission Perspectives that it now accepts the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) as a designated equivalent source of information for actions taken against a physician's medical license, past and present. The designation of FSMB now appears in Note 1 of the intent statement of Medical Staff standards MS.5.4.3.1-MS.5.4.3.2 in the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals.
