U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services created a new form of identification for use in the Employment Eligibility Verification form (I-9) process. Released earlier this month, the U.S. Passport Card, a less expensive and more portable alternative to the traditional passport book, may be used in lieu of a passport in some travel circumstances. Additionally, card holders can show it to employers requesting a government issued ID.
Medical staffs may consider adding this new ID to the list of documents accepted during the credentialing process.
