The effectiveness of your medical staff leaders and, in particular, your medical executive committee (MEC) can have an enormous effect on the way your hospital operates. However, despite the MEC’s importance in helping facilities avoid legal trouble, many hospitals do not devote enough effort to training the MEC on compliance issues.
