NIAHO aims to be an accredidation alternative
Credentialing & Verification Update, July 30, 2008
There could be a new accreditation organization in town: National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) is currently seeking deemed status from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). DNV Healthcare, Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio will offer NIAHO to organizations as an alternative to The Joint Commission accreditation program.
NIAHO will integrate ISO 9001 Quality Management System required with the Medicare Conditions of Participation for Hospitals. For more information about NIAHO and to read DNV's case for a new accreditation program, visit www.newaccreditation.com.
