It depends on the individual hospital or medical practice, says Beverly Leonard, CPCS, vice president of operations for Weatherby Locums, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The evaluations that Weatherby sends at the completion of the assignment have two sets of questions. One set asks questions about the physician’s clinical performance and is best completed by another physician or clinical person that had interaction with the physician while on assignment. The other set of questions asks about the quality of staffing services provided by Weatherby. This section can be completed by the medical staff office or in-house recruiting department that made the locum tenens arrangements.
Editor’s note: This week’s ask the expert feature is the third of a five-part series of questions about locum tenens answered by Beverly Leonard, CPCS, vice president of operations for Weatherby Locums, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL. More locum tenens information is available in the July issue of Briefings on Credentialing, archived on www.online-crc.com.
