Finding physician reviews on the Web is not a problem—patient advocacy groups, insurance companies, and a range of other outlets provide selected critiques of a physician’s performance. The problem is accurately comparing the data because each critique may use different statistics or formats.
The Consumer-Purchase Disclosure Project seeks to eliminate this problem though the creation of the Patient Charter for Physician Performance Measurement, Reporting, and Tiering Programs, a national physician report card. Advocates of the new physician review system include AARP, AFL-CIO, and the National Business Coalition on Health.
