CMS revises list of packaged revenue codes
On October 19, CMS issued a transmittal removing discontinued revenue codes 0709 and 0719 from the list of packaged revenue contained in the Medicare Claims Processing Manual.
Effective date: October 1, 2007
Implementation date: January 22, 2008

CMS revises manual instructions on orders for diagnostic tests
On October 19, CMS issued a transmittal revising its manual instructions relating to orders for diagnostic tests. CMS indicated that this change merely incorporates instructions that had previously been "inadvertently omitted" from the Medicare Benefit Policy Manual. According to CMS, most of the information added to the manual is not applicable in a hospital setting.
Effective date: January 1, 2003
Implementation date: November 19, 2007
