Adventis pays more than $190 million in settlement
Healthcare Auditing Weekly, September 25, 2007
Adventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has agreed to pay more than $190 million to settle FCA allegations related to its pricing of the drug Anzemet. The government alleged that Adventis set and maintained inflated prices for Anzemet knowing that government healthcare programs established reimbursement rates based on those prices.
"The Justice Department will continue to hold drug companies accountable for fraudulent pricing schemes designed to give windfalls to drug companies and doctors at the expense of federal healthcare programs for the poor and elderly," said Assistant Attorney General Peter D. Keisler.
