Some of you may have noticed a change to the links pages on the HCPro Boot Camp web site. I use the links on an almost daily basis and I hope that you also take advantage of this great resource page. If you had the prior site bookmarked, please change your bookmark to the following Web address: http://www.hcprobootcamps.com/helpful_links.cfm. While you are there, you might want to take a look around--there's lots of new stuff on the site, including a new video of some of our instructors teaching class.
Also, Transmittal R1339CP was released this week clarifying the separate payment policy for contrast media used with magnetic resonance imaging procedures. This is not a change in policy; the codes in the transmittal have had a separately payable status indicator since January. However, this transmittal provides a good reminder that, in addition to the CPT code representing the imaging procedure, hospitals can separately bill the appropriate HCPCS Q code for the contrast medium used to perform the service.
Have a good week everyone.
