CMS publishes Federal Register copy of 2008 hospital inpatient prospective payment system final rule
On August 22, CMS issued the Federal Register version of the 2008 hospital inpatient prospective payment system final rule. As reported in a previous issue of Medicare Weekly Update, the display copy has already been posted on the CMS Web site. CMS is accepting comments on certain limited aspects of the final rule through November 20, 2007.
Effective Date: October 1, 2007

CMS publishes final rule on Medicare Integrity Program contractors
On August 24, CMS published in the Federal Register its final rule governing Medicare Integrity Program contractors.
Effective Date: October 23, 2007
