Revision to an edit in the radiology and pathology services' common working file
On July 13, CMS issued a transmittal revising the common working file editor to permit payment for the technical component of radiology and pathology laboratory services furnished on the date of admission or discharge by an entity other than the admitting hospital.
Effective Date: April 1, 2007
Implementation Date: October 1, 2007

Present on admission indicator systems implementation
On July 20, CMS issued a transmittal relating to the requirement that hospitals report present on admission indicators on inpatient claims.

Revised information on PET scan coding
On July 20, CMS issued a transmittal removing CPT code 78609 from the list of covered codes and removing HCPCS codes A4641 from the list of applicable tracer codes for PET scans.
Effective Date: January 28, 2005, for CPT code 78609 non-coverage; January 1, 2008, for HCPCS code A4641 non-applicable for PET scans
Implementation Date: January 7, 2008
