Editor's note: This is the second part in a two-part series. Last month, HCAS wrote about the impending wave of baby boomers who will soon enter Medicare, and as a result will have a much bigger effect on healthcare than many facets of the industry are prepared to handle. This month, HCAS presents some ideas and suggestions to help you prepare for the baby boomer wave. Statistics from federal agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that boomers require an increasing amount of care, including doctor's appointments, prescriptions, and emergency care. In a June 29 Reuters story, Catharine Burt of the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics tied the increasing care to a graying America.
