CMS recently issued a new guidance document that many experts interpret as a warning of future enforcement. "The government is giving a signal that remote access technology is a real hot button for [the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services]," says William Roach Jr., MS, JD, a healthcare attorney at McDermott Will & Emery in Chicago.
