Hospital warns of fraudulent door-to-door fundraising

Healthcare Auditing Weekly, June 12, 2007

The Phoenix, AZ Children's Hospital Foundation is warning residents of fundraising scams claiming to benefit the hospital, the Bakersfield Californian reports.

Victims said young people from companies named "Integrity Program" and "Team Xtreme Sales, LLC" are knocking on doors and claiming to sell publications that benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital, according to the foundation. And they're not confining themselves to Arizona--a Bakersfield, CA-area resident has reported being approached by the scammers.

"Phoenix Children's Hospital never solicits door-to-door, and we do not operate a 'magazines for kids' fund raising program," said Steve Schnall, vice president of the foundation, in the press release.
