National Provider Identifier validation
On June 8, CMS issued a transmittal informing contractors of its new requirement to use a national Provider Identifier (NPI) crosswalk for the matching and validation of NPIs to legacy provider identifiers.
Effective Date: June 8, 2007
Implementation Date: No later than June 22, 2007

MLN Matters available for two previously released transmittals
CMS issued MLN Matters articles for two transmittals that were released earlier this month. On June 4, CMS issued a MLN Matters article for the transmittal revising HCPCS codes for certain Immune Globulins. On June 5, CMS issued a MLN Matters article for the transmittal revising HCPCS codes for Albuterol, Levalbuterol, and Reclast.
