On May 22, CMS posted the final version of the "Important Message from Medicare."
Beginning July 1, hospitals must deliver the revised "Important Message from Medicare" to Medicare beneficiaries who are hospital inpatients regarding their hospital discharge appeal rights.
It also posted an unofficial version of the "Detailed Notice of Discharge." The unofficial version may only be used for training and programming purposes, according to CMS. A final version of the "Detailed Notice" should be published next week.
