Bone mass measurements
On May 11, CMS issued three transmittals relating to Medicare coverage of bone mass measurements (BMMs). These transmittals revise the Medicare manual system to conform with current federal law on Medicare coverage of BMMs.
Effective Date: January 1, 2007
Implementation Date: July 2, 2007

Present-on-admission indicator
On May 11, CMS issued a "one time notification" transmittal providing implementing instructions for reporting present on admission codes on all inpatient, acute-care hospital claims.
