CMS proposes Clinical Trial Policy revisions
On April 11, CMS announced its proposed revisions to the Clinical Trial Policy national coverage determination (NCD). Among other changes, CMS will rename the NCD to Clinical Research Policy.
CMS also opened a 30-day comment period with its announcement. CMS said it will publish the final NCD no later than 60 days after the end of the comment period.

CMS clarifies restructuring strategy
On April 11, CMS posted a new question and answer on the Frequently Asked Questions section of its Web site. The new Q&A is listed in the Medicare, Medicare contracting, Medicare contracting reform section of the FAQ page. The Q&A explains CMS' revised strategy that consolidates the home health and hospice claims processing into four seperate Medicare Administrative Contractors.
