Hospital worker sues doctor for reading her personal medical information

A Massachusetts hospital employee is suing a colleague for accessing her medical chart in order to pursue her romantically, the Berkshire Eagle reports.
The employee, Ashley Keyes, is suing Dr. Boris Alberto Murillo, as well as his employer, Berkshire Medical Center's parent company Berkshire Health Systems.
In January, 2006 Keyes discovered that Murillo reviewed her medical charts spanning several years. Murillo was allegedly making sexual advances toward Keyes during the same period.
The suit accuses Berkshire Health Systems of failing to protect Keyes' HIPAA rights and failing to train Murillo properly in these rights. Keyes is requesting $250,000 in damages.
