New Jersey man facing charges of health care fraud

A New Jersey man pleaded guilty yesterday to forging prescriptions for Oxycontin, a painkiller, and using names of relatives and other acquaintances to bill Blue Cross and Blue Shield for the fraudulent prescriptions, according to the Associated Press. James Barsoum, 32, allegedly filed more than $8,000 in false claims and could face $250,000 fines for health care fraud and forging a prescription and up to four years in prison.
