Universal Health Services under investigation for Medicare and Medicaid fraud

HHS Inspector General subpoenaed Universal Health Services Inc. as part of an ongoing investigation into Medicare and Medicaid fraud related to physician hiring and patient referral, according to Reuters. The hospital chain is based in King of Prussia, PA and owns acute care and behavioral health facilities throughout the country. The subpoena was issued by the HHS Inspector General and the company has said it is cooperating with the probe.
