What are the benefits of establishing an organized healthcare arrangement (OHCA)?

Providers may use and disclose protected health information (PHI) for most treatment and payment purposes. However, to share PHI for healthcare operations, the person using or receiving it must be a workforce member or a business associate.

By designating as an OHCA, all participants in your organized healthcare arrangement can share information for joint activities in support of the organization.

For more information see Section 160.103 Definitions: Organized Health Care Arrangement.
