Michigan psychologist pleads guilty to healthcare fraud

A Michigan psychologist pleaded guilty last week to filing false claims totaling $853,000, according to the Associated Press and The Mining Journal.

Herman Rummelt pleaded guilty to defrauding both insurance companies and Medicare. He stated his plea in U.S. District Court in Marquette. He potentially faces fines and a maximum of 30 years in prison-one decade for each of three fraud charges filed against him.
