Removal of CMS’s Medically Unbelievable Edits only temporary

More than a few astute Compliance Monitor readers alerted us to the fact that the links provided in an article last week, "CMS's Medically Unbelievable Edits lead to instant denial," were no longer active. Although this was perplexing at first, we have a reason.
According to Vinson & Elkins (V&E) Health Headlines, CMS pulled the transmittal and corresponding Medlearn Matters article in order to make a few adjustments. V&E also reported that CMS plans to have its updates finished by the October effective date set in the original proposal, published February 18.
