The Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) last week conducted a survey that asked members, "Does your compliance department report to the audit department?"

HCCA collected 447 responses over three days. The following are the results of the survey:

  • 91% (409 total) of compliance officers do not report to the audit department
  • 6% (26) jointly report to the audit department and another department or individual
  • 3% (12) report to the audit department
