A Braintree, MA, physician agreed to pay $100,000 to the United States government last week to settle allegations that he overbilled Medicare.
According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Arthur Bregoli agreed to the settlement amid charges that he overcharged Medicare patients for nursing facility care in Massachusetts nursing homes from 1995-1999.
Under the terms of his settlement, Bregoli also entered into a certificate of compliance agreement with the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services that allows the agency to monitor his compliance with Medicare billing guidelines.
