Tenet Healthcare Corp. agreed to sell three Los Angeles hospitals to Centinela Freeman HealthSystem, a group formed by community leaders, physicians, and others to keep the medical centers in local hands, the Associated Press (AP) reported August 31.
The agreement includes 370-bed Centinela Hospital Medical Center, 358-bed Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood, and 166-bed Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital in Marina del Rey.
The hospitals will be run as a unified system by Centinela Freeman HealthSystem. Besides doctors and community leaders, the group includes hospital management and a private investment firm, AP reported.
In January, Tenet said it planned to sell 27 hospitals in California, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, and Texas.
