Handle denied access to records accordingly

If you are denied access to documents and other forms of evidence that you consider necessary to complete your review or audit or encounter substandard evidence, be smart and ensure you have access to records, people, and substandard record ground during the planning stage.

However, should an access or substandard record issue arise during the audit, learn how the OIG handles such a situation and, ideally with the help of general counsel, formulate your internal procedures accordingly.
