The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on March 15 completed its review of the Phase II physician self-referral regulations, according to an update on the agency's Web site.
Industry experts say the rule should be out by the end of this month.
"Phase II of the final Stark II regulations should be promulgated by the end of March," says George W. Bodenger, partner at Duane Morris LLP. "The Phase II regulations are expected to include regulations for those Stark Law exceptions not addressed in Phase I, and clarifications on certain issues addressed under the Phase I regulations."
