Several Pennsylvania behavioral health centers will pay the government a combined $1.29 million for improperly billing mental health services. Regional Development Behavioral Health Centers, Inc. (RDBHC) operated community mental health centers, including Shenandoah Behavioral Health Center, Schuylkill Haven Behavioral Health Center, Pocono Behavioral Health Center, and Turning Point Behavioral Health Center.
The government says the defendants improperly billed for mental health services from 1995 to 1999 by falsely certifying that Shenandoah, Schuylkill, Pocono, and Turning Point met the requirements for a Medicare community mental health center. The defendants also billed for medically unnecessary services and unallowable services.
The defendants will also enter into a corporate integrity agreement with the Office of Inspector General. (The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania named the three RDBHC owners and executives in the settlement.) Click here to read their CIA.
