New Hampshire first to get new healthcare law funds
On March 2, CMS issued a press release that states New Hampshire will be the first state in the country to receive new Medicaid grant dollars— $26.5 million over three years— provided by the Affordable Care Act to keep people out of institutions and living productive lives in their communities. The new grant program is part of an ongoing effort by CMS and states to expand home and community-based services and supports.

OIG posts review of Medicare outpatient billing for selected drugs at NorthBay Medical Center (CA)
On March 5, CMS posted an audit report forNorthBay Medical Center, located in Fairfield, CA. For 99 of the 121 line items reviewed, NorthBay Medical Center did not bill Medicare for injections of selected drugs in accordance with Federal requirements, resulting in overpayments totaling $70,000.
