Last February, I wrote about the proposed rule for Medicaid health care-acquired conditions (HCACs) and some of the similarities between HCACs and Medicare’s hospital-acquired conditions (HACs).  Last week, CMS published the final rule in the Federal Register with few changes to the proposed rule, despite many comments by providers about the inconsistencies between programs and the ability to expand payment reductions into new frontiers.
