Regulations: CMS posts IPPS proposed rule for 2012

CMS has issued for public inspection a proposed rule to make changes to the inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS) for fiscal year 2012. Among the proposed provisions is the inclusion of contrast-induced acute kidney injury as a hospital-acquired condition, further clarification of the three-day payment window, and extension of the document and coding adjustment to reimbursement.
