Those of us who have wondered what the outcome will be of CMS’ three-month delay in enforcing the new signature requirement for lab requisitions may find out soon. CMS is awaiting Office of Management and Budget (OMB) review of the interim final rule, “Changes to the ESRD Prospective Payment System Transition Budget-Neutrality Adjustment; to the Signature Requirement on Clinical Laboratory Services Requisition,” according to a review listing posted on the OMB website. The actual provisions will not be accessible until the OMB completes its review.
