CMS updates SNF consolidated billing list
On March 25, CMS issued a transmittal to update the list of HCPCS codes subject to the skilled nursing facility (SNF) consolidated billing rules.
Effective date: January 1, 2011
Implementation date: July 5, 2011
CMS revises hospital cost report
On March 25, CMS issued a transmittal to further revise the hospital cost report, per legislative changes in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as modified by the Medicare and Medicaid Extenders Act.
CMS instructs on accreditation
On March 25, CMS issued a transmittal to clarify the determination of the effective date of a Medicare provider agreement or supplier approval for healthcare facilities that are subject to survey and certification. The FY 2011 IPPS final rule made regulatory changes to make it clearer that the date of a Medicare provider agreement or supplier approval may not be earlier than the latest date on which all applicable federal requirements have been met, and that such requirements include review and verification of an application to enroll in the Medicare program by CMS’s legacy fiscal intermediary, legacy carrier, or Medicare administrative contractor.
Effective date: October 1, 2010
Implementation date: April 25, 2011
CMS updates Part B drug pricing files
On March 25, CMS issued a transmittal to make its regular update to the average sales price (ASP) drug pricing files under Part B.
Effective date: July 1, 2011
Implementation date: July 5, 2011
