CMS updates waived tests
On February 11, CMS issued a transmittal to inform contractors of new waived tests approved by the Food and Drug Administration under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988.
Effective date: April 1, 2011
Implementation date: April 4, 2011
CMS updates list of CLIA edit codes
On February 11, CMS issued a transmittal to update the list of HCPCS codes subject to and excluded from the CLIA edits.
Effective date: January 1, 2011
Implementation date: April 4, 2011
CMS updates lab travel allowance fees
On February 11, CMS issued a transmittal to revise the payment of travel allowances under the clinical laboratory fee schedule for CY 2011.
Effective date: January 1, 2011

CMS issues drug/biological code update
On February 4, CMS issued a transmittal to remind contractors of the regular update to HCPCS codes for drugs/biologicals.

CMS updates MPFS database
On February 4, CMS issued a transmittal to update the MPFS data files. The update makes changes to some payment indicators and practice expense RVUs. CMS subsequently replaced this transmittal to make corrections.
