Renier Vicente Rodriguez Fleitas, 60, of Miami-Dade County, will serve 37 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release.
The Court also sentenced Rodriguez to three years supervised release following his prison term and ordered him to pay $135,930 in restitution.
According to the DOJ, Rodriguez purchased Pirifer Medical Supplies, Inc., doing business as Pirifer Pharmacy and Discount, in November 2009. Between December 2009 and March 2010, Pirifer submitted approximately $1.8 million in fraudulent claims to various Part D plan administrators, and received approximately $135,930 from Medicare.
