CMS publishes 2011 IPPS final rule
On August 16, CMS published in the Federal Register a final rule making changes to the IPPS for fiscal year 2011. Included in the rulemaking is an interim final rule to make changes to CMS’ three-day payment window policy, pursuant to recent legislation. CMS had previously released a display copy of the rules for public inspection.

CMS publishes ESRD PPS rule
On August 12, CMS published in the Federal Register a final rule to implement a prospective payment system (PPS) for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) beginning in 2011.
