Although I haven’t digested the 1,877 pages of the display copy of the 2011 IPPS Final Rule that was put on display last Friday, I did skip to the section on the three-day payment window, which has been of great interest. CMS published an interim final rule (IFR) with comment period implementing the recent legislative changes to the three day payment window adopted by Congress on June 25, 2010. The IFR proposes changes to several regulatory sections to conform to recent legislation and has a retroactive effective date of June 25, 2010 to comply with the effective date of that legislation. Comments will be accepted until September 28.
