Regional healthcare fraud prevention summit series kicks off in Miami

Attorney General Eric Holder and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius held the first in a series of regional healthcare fraud prevention summits in Miami July 16.
According to a Department of Justice press release, Miami-area seniors learned how to detect suspected Medicare fraud and report fraud to 1-800-HHS-TIPS and at www.stopmedicarefraud.gov. Educational panels, consisting of law enforcement officials, consumer experts, providers and representatives of key government agencies, also discussed best practices for providers and law enforcement in preventing healthcare fraud.
