Detroit physical therapist and medical assistant plead guilty to Medicare fraud

Two Detroit citizens pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for their roles in a Medicare home healthcare fraud scheme, according to a Department of Justice press release.
Faisal Chaudry, 32, worked as a physical therapy assistant for All American Home Care Inc. where he admitted to signing documents that purported home healthcare visits to Medicare beneficiaries. In court, Chaudry admitted that the majority of the All American visits never occurred.
Guy Ross, 49, worked as a medical assistant for All American and Patient Choice Home Healthcare Inc., where he admitted to receiving $500 for every patient he referred to the facilities.
Chaudry faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Ross faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
