Medicare Fraud Strike Force arrests 94 in largest Medicare fraud bust

The Medicare Fraud Strike Force charged 94 people for their alleged participation in various Medicare fraud schemes worth more than $251 million, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release

The operation is the largest healthcare fraud takedown since Medicare Fraud Strike Force began operating in 2007. The charges consist of a variety of fraud schemes including physical and occupational therapy, home healthcare, HIV infusion, and durable medical equipment fraud schemes, according to the DOJ.

The 94 defendants were arrested in Miami, Detroit, Houston, Brooklyn, NY, and Baton Rouge, LA.
