CMS proposes changes to hospital/CAH CoPs
On May 21, CMS posted a display copy of a proposed rule that would make changes to the conditions of participation (CoP) for hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAH). The proposed changes would allow for a new credentialing and privileging process for physicians and practitioners providing telemedicine services.
CMS posts MPFS corrections
On May 11, CMS published in the Federal Register technical corrections to the 2010 MPFS final rule.
CMS issues rulemaking on provider/supplier enrollment
On May 5, CMS published in the Federal Register an interim final rule to implement various enrollment provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, including a requirement that physicians and eligible professionals who order and refer covered items and services for Medicare beneficiaries be enrolled in Medicare.
