CMS instructs contractors to compile RAC appeals reports
On April 23, CMS issued a transmittal instructing affiliated contractors and Medicare administrative contractors to issue monthly RAC appeals reports to the appropriate CMS project officers.
Effective date: May 24, 2010
Implementation date: May 24, 2010
CMS makes minor modifications to site verification process
On April 23, CMS issued a transmittal to make small changes to the site inspection process as part of enrollment verification. The process is being revised to include a date/time stamp on all photographs taken of the facility and a signed declaration by the individual who performed the site verification.

CMS posts CARC, RARC update
On April 23, CMS issued a transmittal instructing contractors to add or modify several claim adjustment reason codes (CARC) and remittance advice remark codes (RARC).
