CMS instructs on 5010
On March 19, CMS issued a transmittal to communicate new edit spreadsheets to contractors able to move forward with 5010 implementation.

CMS provides guidance on reporting recoupment
On March 19, CMS issued a transmittal to instruct the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) and Multi Carrier System (MCS) on reporting recoupment when there is a time difference between the creation and the collection of the recoupment.

CMS issues lab coding guidance
On March 19, CMS issued a transmittal to provide special guidance on the proper use of codes 80100, 80101, 80101QW, G0430, G0430QW, G0431, and G0431QW.

CMS updates instructions on occurrence span codes
On March 19, CMS issued a transmittal to provide claims processing and billing instructions that allow claims to be billed as if no occurrence span code limitation exists on the claim.

CMS updates lab travel allowance fees
On March 19, CMS issued a transmittal to update the travel allowance fees for collection of specimens under the clinical laboratory fee schedule.
