CMS updates RHC/FQHC cost report
On March 12, CMS issued a transmittal to revise the Independent Rural Health Clinic (RHC)/Freestanding Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Cost Report, form CMS-222-92.

CMS to expand ICD-9 code processing
On March 5, CMS issued a transmittal to implement processing of more ICD-9 codes (diagnosis and procedure) on institutional claims, effective January 1, 2011.

CMS repeals cardiac rehab NCD
On March 5, CMS issued a transmittal to repeal Section 20.10 of the National Coverage Determinations Manual, on cardiac rehabilitation programs. The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA) provides for coverage of cardiac rehab and intensive cardiac rehab effective January 1, 2010, and specifies certain conditions of coverage.
Effective date: February 22, 2010

CMS revises PTA NCD
On March 5, CMS issued transmittals to the National Coverage Determinations Manual and the Claims Processing Manual, to implement revised language in its NCD for percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). The revisions include new verbiage specific to embolic protection devices.
